A real dirt bike, sized down — not a toy with a motor bolted on
The Warrior SX-E500 is where most young riders start with RFN. It has the things that actually matter on a first proper bike: hydraulic brakes, real suspension at both ends, and a speed limiter a parent controls. The 500W brushless motor gives a child enough to learn throttle control on without being intimidating.
Rider sizing: RFN does not publish a specific age or height range for the SX-E500. Rather than guess, tell us your child's height, inside-leg and riding experience and we will tell you honestly whether this or the EVO Racing 20" is the better fit.
Three speed modes — you decide which one they get
-
Eco — 15 km/h. First rides, learning balance and braking.
-
Low — 25 km/h. Once they're confident and looking where they're going.
-
Sport — 35 km/h. For a rider who has genuinely earned it.
The modes are the single most useful safety feature on this bike. Start in Eco and move up.
Motor and battery
-
36V 500W brushless motor with a sine wave controller — power comes on smoothly rather than snatching, which matters a lot for a beginner
- 36V 7.5Ah removable lithium battery
-
Up to 1 hour 15 minutes of run time on the lower speed modes — expect less in Sport
- The pack lifts out, so a spare battery means the day doesn't end when the first one does
Chassis, suspension and brakes
-
Steel frame — built to survive the drops that come with learning
-
Dual suspension, front and rear
-
Hydraulic disc brakes — proper stopping power, not cable brakes
-
14 x 2.4" all-terrain tyres, equally happy on a driveway or a dirt track
